Continental 50,000 Miles Expires May 15

It has been more than four months since I was approved for the Priority Club VISA from Chase, so I thought I would try this week to get approved for the Continental 50,000 Mile offer before the May 15th deadline. Since both of these credit cards are issued by Chase, it has been my experience that Chase will not usually approve more than one of their credit cards within a certain time frame. Hopefully a four month wait is enough time for me to be approved for a new credit card from Chase.

Since the merger of Continental and United Airlines has been approved, the frequent flyer miles from both programs may now be combined. I hope to get the Continental 50,000 miles from this promotion and at some later date apply for a United Airlines credit card to add to my Continental/United miles. Not yet sure where I will use these miles. Both United and Continental fly from Philadelphia and Newark, the closest international airports to my home, so I should be able to find a destination that interests us to use these miles. My friends tell me that the flights on Continental to Mexico and Puerto Rico are great. The least amount of miles needed for these destinations is 35,000 miles for a round trip flight.
