We spent the day enjoying many of the wonderful galleries in Santa Fe, Mexico. I thought I had posted a video from one of the beautiful outside gardens, but there seems to be a technical difficulty with that post. Hopefully I will be able to share it with you soon. There are more than 100 galleries in a one mile area in Santa Fe. These include world class Native American, Contemporary, Historic, and internationally recognized artists. The original work includes paintings, sculptures, drawings, ceramics, fibers and fabulous gardens. All of the galleries and gardens we visited were open to all with no admission fees. There was so much to appreciate that we are going back today to see more of the galleries and gardens on Canyon Road.
Lunch was quick, delicious and very reasonably priced at Bumble Bee’s Baja Grill, a Mexican restaurant. My husband enjoyed his rice bowl with grilled mahi-mahi and brown rice. I had the house salad with mixed greens, fresh veggies, cotija cheese and tofu with a lemon vinaigrette. It was a fabulous salad. Our lunch cost approximately $18.
We spent the night at the Hilton Buffalo Thunder. This is a large casino hotel just off the highway. It is about a 15 minute drive from Santa Fe. There is also a Homewood Suites located on the property. I got a prepaid rate of $68 plus tax bringing the total to $76. Since I am a gold member of Hilton HHonors the rate includes free internet access and a full cooked to order breakfast for both of us. This is one of my stays that will count as a hit for the US Airways Grand Slam. When I checked into the hotel I confirmed my US Airways Dividend miles number. I expect to receive both 1,000 US Airways miles (double miles promo) plus Hilton points for this stay.
After breakfast my husband and I are looking forward to another warm and sunny day enjoying more of the galleries and gardens on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
