Loving My New Bluebird

On Monday I received my new Bluebird prepaid American Express card in the mail. To order yours go to bluebird.com and click Register Now.

As soon as I received my card I went to Walmart and tried to use both a credit and a Walmart gift card to load my new Bluebird prepaid card, but neither of those options worked. Next I went to Office Depot and used my new American Express Business Gold Rewards to purchase some office supplies and two Vanilla reload cards. The reload cards cost $3.95 each. I was really torn not using my Ink Bold card and earning five times my purchase, but I needed to meet the minimum spend on my American Express Gold card to earn the 50,000 sign up bonus points.

Next I needed to load my Bluebird, so I went to Vanillareload.com and added both $500 Vanilla cards. $1,000 became available immediately on Bluebird. The maximum amount of funds you may add to your Bluebird Account via Cash Funding Sources is $1,000 on any day and $5,000 in any calendar month. This includes vanilla reloads.

I used my new Bluebird to make two small in person purchases and paid two Chase credit card bills using Bluebird free bill pay feature. Since Chase is on Bluebird’s list of payees it was very easy to make a payment. I am now waiting to see how long it takes for the payments I made through Bluebird to be posted to my Chase accounts.

So now for a small fee of $3.95 for each $500.00, I am earning points and meeting my minimum spends by buying reload cards, loading them onto Bluebird and paying my regular bills even credit card bills that earned me points and miles when using those cards to make purchases. Just amazing!

Today I plan to use Bluebird to withdraw some cash from the ATM at our local WAWA with no ATM fees.

Thanks again Frequent Miler for introducing me to Bluebird!
