My husband and I are in the Presidential Suite at the Sheraton Libertador in Buenos Aires for 4 nights for the cash and points rate of $45 plus 2,800 points for the first 2 nights and $119 plus taxes for the next 2 nights. My husband needs two more hits for the US Airways grands slam from this stay, so we have a discounted rate for two nights instead of the cash and points rate.

How did we get upgraded to the Presidential Suite? I am a Starwood platinum member and after I booked our reservations online, I called the platinum concierge and asked for a suite upgrade. I find that when the platinum concierge puts a notation in my reservation the chances of an upgrade greatly increase.
