Just back from five wonderful days of skiing in Park City, Utah. We stayed four nights at the Hyatt Escala Lodge. The staff at the hotel was friendly, professional and very helpful. Fortunately for us the hotel had low occupancy in the middle of the ski season. Staying Sunday through Thursday certainly helped.
As we arrived at the hotel the valet explained that the ski butlers were located on the second floor. To be honest I really did not know what a ski butler did, but thought this is going to be good. In the past we would drive to a different resort each morning and spend the day skiing. This involved a lot of packing and carrying our skis and boots.The ski butlers store your skis, heat your boots and brings your skis to you outside when you are ready to hit the slopes. After returning to the lodge at the end of the day, the ski butlers cleans the ice off of your skis and stores them for you.
The ski butlers are always available to help make your ski experience exceptional. My son spent some time on the expert slopes and rode over a rocky patch causing a couple of dents and gashes in the bottom of one of his skis. He mentioned this to me while we were eating breakfast and I suggested we go and talk to the ski butler. Matt was amazing. He got my son’s ski from the storage room and examined the skis. He agreed that one ski needed some work and asked when we wanted to start skiing that morning. Our plan was to head out in an hour and Matt gave us confidence that my son’s ski would be ready for the day. When we came back to start skiing for the day, Matt showed us told he used a razor and the buffer machine to fix the ski at no charge to us. Wow what service! With the ski repaired my son’s confidence increased and off we went to enjoy another sunny day on the slopes at The Canyons Resort.
When we were finished skiing at lunch time and the end of the day we took the trail back to the hotel. There is a path off Doc’s Run on the right after the cut off for Outlaw that takes you back to the hotel. We were able to ski/in and ski/out of the Hyatt Escala Lodge. With this convenience and having the ski butlers to help us throughout the day every day made this ski trip all play and no work. The ski butlers pampered us and certainly made of feel special during our entire stay.
