We spent the night at the Four Points Hotel near the Philadelphia Airport. This is not our first stay at this location. There are two other Starwood properties on the same grounds; Aloft PHL and Sheraton Suites.
When I walked into the hotel I heard the front desk clerk talking to several guests waiting to check in and she mentioned my birthday, October 13. Right away I thought this is very good or a problem. The front desk clerk was talking about another guest she did not like and that he was born on October 13 too. She continued to explain that she is a Sagittarius and that she does not get along with Libra’s especially males. After going through various astrological signs and their compatibility, we got keys to our room.
For our free night at this hotel we used 3,000 Starwood points. The Aloft and Sheraton Suites were 7,000 points and that is why I chose the Four Points hotel over the other two.
The room at the Four Points PHL hotel is basic and clean. We were just there to sleep and catch the airport shuttle early in the morning. All I wanted to do was read and fall asleep. I tried to turn on the reading light next to my side of the bed, but it did not work. My husband took the bulb out of his reading light and put it into mine and it still did not work. The outlet was located somewhere behind the bed, so we called the front and explained the problem.
About 15 minutes later maintenance arrived and he attempted to move the bed away from the wall. This did not work. Next he laid on the floor on his belly, but he still could not reach the outlet. What he did next shocked me. He climbed on to the bed. (We had pulled the covers down before he arrived.) He was laying on the sheets and the pillows on his belly after just lying on the floor. This was certainly a first for us! I was speechless. A few minutes later he plugged in the the reading light and left our room.
I was not getting into that bed after he laid on our sheets, so I called the front desk and they brought up some clean sheets. We were told we would have to make the bed ourselves or wait another 30-60 minutes for someone to help us. I asked to be compensated in points and she offered me 1,000 Starwood points. After going back and forth a few times she agreed to reimburse me the 3,000 points for our stay.
Has anything like this ever happen to you?
