My husband and I were planning to fly from Philadelphia to Portland, Maine today. This morning I received a phone message that our flight had been canceled and that we were now booked to fly tomorrow. Fortunately I got the message before we left for the airport. The only problem was this is short trip, so leaving a day late did not work for us.
It took me about 30 minutes on hold to reach an agent. She was very helpful and changed our return flights. Now we our flying home on a later date and at a later time. The 6 am flight home was not that appealing, but it was the only one available for 25,000 miles round trip. Since Delta canceled our flight they were willing to accommodate us for the same number of miles on a later flight. Both the hotel in Portland and the car rental company were able to change our dates at the same rates. Looking forward to enjoying Maine tomorrow.
Amtrak now goes to Maine. It stops first at Wells (Kennebunkport/Ogunquit) and onto Portland, there is always the good old shuttle from Washington to Boston and the Maine border is only 1 1/4 hours drive.
