Today my husband and I and one of our sons did a mattress run at the Park Inn Harrisburg West for the Park Inn Stay One, Get One Promotion. There was a wedding at the hotel. The hotel website states that this hotel has 22 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. Because of the wedding we did not get the chance to walking around the gardens. Hopefully the garden side of the hotel is much nicer than the parking lot side where all three of our rooms were located.
We each got a room with tax for about $94. First we checked into my room. It was in a different building than the other two rooms, the building furthest from the front desk. The check-in clerk provided a map and told me it was a short drive to my room if I used the unpaved gravel road, but my car may sustain damage if I drove on it. We decided to take the paved road.
Here is a picture of the outside. None of our rooms connected to an interior corridor.

As I opened the door there was an unpleasant stale odor, so I left the door open. My room was dreary and had older furniture. The bed felt lumpy.

The door to the room was very difficult to close and looked damaged. Certainly not the type of room for me to feel secure for the night.

Our other two rooms looked and smelled better, but the beds felt same. The color scheme is certainly more pleasant. We were unable to unlock one of the rooms and had to drive back to the front desk and get re-keyed. It still did not work and the housekeeper said he was having trouble opening this room too, but was able to open the door for us.
This bed felt the same as the first one. On the drive home I thanked my husband for telling me not to pack since he had no plans to spend the night in Harrisburg, a city that recently declared bankruptcy.
The hotel has a restaurant with many televisions. There are individual ones at some tables. The restaurant has a pool table and on Friday and Saturday nights they have bull riding. We have no plan to return to this hotel, but we are looking forward to all of our points posting to our Club Carlson accounts.
