Radisson Hotel Research Triangle Park – Review

Front Entrance

Front Parking Lot

We were in Raleigh/Durham this week to visit our son. I selected the Radisson Hotel Research Triangle Park for our one night stay for 3 reasons:
1-Radission Big Night Giveaway (My husband needed one stay)
2-Free airport transportation
3-Ten minute drive from the hotel where my son was staying

The first disappointment in this hotel was the airport shuttle. I called the hotel as soon as we landed and was told it would take 10 minutes for our ride to arrive at the airport. After waiting about 20 minutes I called the hotel again and was told the driver should be there any minute. Yes, the driver arrived a few minutes later and he drove right by us without stopping even though I waived for him to stop.  Again I called the hotel and was told she would contact the driver and have him pick us up.  After waiting for approximately 45 minutes we were picked up at the airport and taken to the hotel. The driver explained that he just never looked our way when he passed the hotel stop where we were standing.

The hotel is in an isolated location and it looks old and worn. It has one restaurant with a limited menus. Check-in was easy and our room was available at 9 a.m at no additional charge. To get from the hotel lobby to the guest room you must go outside. Our room was spacious and clean.

Sitting Area

2nd sink and mirror outside bathroom

This is a sleep number bed. As you attempt to adjust the firmness, it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

Our rate was $120 plus taxes came to $135. We decided not to spend the night at the Radisson Research Triangle Park Hotel and we checked out at about 9 p.m. We spent the night at the County Inns and Suites near the Raleigh/Durham Airport (RDU). It is a much better property at a better location for us. I will be writing about out stay at the County Inns and Suites RDU later this week.
