Spirit Raises Carry-On Baggage Fees to $100 each

Effective Nov 6, 2012, Spirit Airlines will raise the cost to carry on one piece of luggage to $100, if you wait and pay the fee at the airport gate. Really? If you pay at the airport ticket counter, the fee will go up to $50 per bag. Here is a the link to their extremely long list of fees. These fees are outrageous, don’t you agree?

  1. I agree, and I am so glad you take the time to do this blog. I have enjoyed hearing all sorts of things I didn’t know about. Penny

  2. I saw this on the news the other day! It tells me one thing: I refuse to fly Spirit! That’s absurd! I agree that airlines as a whole are struggling and therefore have to raise weird fees here and there. But this is ridiculous! I have plenty of cheap airlines near me that even offer a free checked bag for domestic flights! (yea, like the good ol’ days when that was standard!)…
