My husband and I live in Florida and our grandchildren live in California. We planned a trip to visit them using the advice and guidance of the Frugal Travel Lawyer. I opened a Marriott Rewards credit card with no fee for the first year in November and was given enough bonus points to use last month at the TownPlace Suites By Marriott in Thousand Oaks, California for 6 nights for FREE. No bill no charges, thanks to you “our” Frugal Travel Lawyer. We chose the hotel based on the following: location, free and all inclusive breakfast buffet. The hotel is set up for business travelers and includes a kitchenette in all rooms. That was not appealing nor functional for us and certainly took away the ambience of a traditional hotel room. However the hotel was very clean (spotless), the staff helpful, nice and professional. The fitness room was great. The breakfast was very good with fresh baked local croissants, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, cereal, juices, coffee, teas, granola bar, bagels, muffins and more .When coming back to the hotel in the evening, the warm Otis Spunkmeyer home made cookies were our bedtime snack. We were happy and would certainly stay there again if the stay was free. We are hooked on free travel, points and credit card offers.
May I also mention that we flew on Southwest Airlines for almost free. We now have their credit card that was $69.00 for the year. That offer gave us 50,000 bonus points. We gladly paid $10.00 each for the taxes and the checked bags were free. Southwest Airlines is a pleasure to fly. They are friendly, prompt, business oriented, profitable and care! Wow! What a refreshing combination. We have enough points left to plan more air travel. What a wonderful way to go!
Thank you again for showing us the way to travel for next to nothing. We are excited and very proud! We love playing the game and challenging ourselves.
