Last week I wrote about Virgin Mobile cell service and my new LG Optimus V phone. The phone is great! While I was in Portland I was able to purchase $40 Top-up cards for $40, no tax in Portland.
Tomorrow is the last day of Virgin Mobile’s current rate plans. If you have the current plan you are grandfathered after the rates change. The $25 plan with 300 minutes goes up to $35 for 30 days of service, the $40 plan rises to $45 for 1200 minutes and the unlimited plan goes down from $60 a month to $55. Even after your minutes are used up on the two lower priced plans you still have unlimited text, email, data and web. If you are interested in switching to Virgin Mobile for the $25 or $40 plan, do it today.
We flew from Portland to Reno on Southwest. I checked in for my boarding pass 24 hours before my flight on the Southwest Airlines app on my phone. It worked great. We printed our boarding passes later in the day. There was no option to use the phone app as the boarding pass. Hopefully that will be available soon.
Here is an article from Travel and Leisure about the best travel websites and apps. I did try to load a number of them on my android phone, but the ones I tried were not available. Here is the link.
