I spent the weekend in Atlantic City for restaurant week. It was a great dining value, $33.11 per person for dinner and $15.11 for lunch. Many restaurants participated in this yearly event. SeaBlue at the Borgata was our choice for dinner. We arrived early for our reservation and we were seated right away. The service was wonderful and the food was fabulous. I had the mozzarella salad for my appetizer and my son had the crab cake. The crab cake was crispy on the outside and smooth and creamy of the inside filled with sweet crab meat. My mozzarella salad was delicious. We both ordered the miso-glazed Chilean seabass. A very large perfectly cooked piece of seabass was served in a miso soup with shrimp, small dumplings and Asian veggies. For dessert we both had the bite sized beignets with an espresso sauce. It was a great ending to a terrific meal.
After dinner we drove to the Atlantic City Sheraton. I have been regular guest at this hotel for the past ten years. Mohamed at the front welcomed me back and I asked if there was a possibility of a suite upgrade. He checked and said to the Presidential Suite had been reserved for me.
Before walking up to our suite I stopped by the concierge desk and spoke with Diane. I love having a concierge to check in with whenever I need assistance. I had a special event question and I needed a sewing kit. Diane quickly got me a sewing kit for my button and provided me with the information I needed in a very pleasant and professional manner.
We rode the elevator up to the top floor and walked to the end of the hallway to the Presidential suite. Here is a link to picture of the living room of our suite. Presidential Suite
We had complimentary continental breakfast in the club lounge. Bonnie, the other hotel concierge, greeted me at the lounge and we discussed some changes in the local restaurants. I had a question regarding directions and parking and she cheerfully provided me with the information. The hotel has two wonderful concierges.
Our $99 package rate included parking, an outlet center coupon book and 1,000 Starwood points for our next stay at this hotel. Cassandra and Bob at the front desk were very helpful to make sure I had the needed information to get my bonus Starwood points. We were given a 2pm check out and had a wonderful stay in the Presidential Suite. Being treated so well by the staff, makes us want to return again very soon to the Atlantic City Sheraton.
We walked from the hotel to The Melting Pot to eat lunch. For $15.11 we started with the salad course. I had the mushroom, spinach and bacon salad and my son had the Caesar salad with pine nuts. Both salads were large, fresh and tasty. The main entrée fondue included chili chicken, sirloin, roasted garlic shrimp, mini spinach artichoke ravioli, broccoli, mushroom and red potatoes. We enjoyed cooking our food and all of the different dipping sauces. For desert we chose the turtle fondue which was flambéed table side with pecans and served with strawberries, cheesecake, brownie bites, Rice Krispy treats and marshmallows. It was a perfect ending to our stay in Atlantic City.
