The year 2010 was a great year for earning airlines miles and credits without too much flying and little out of pocket cost. At the end of each year I try to look over what I have earned to see how my hobby is working. This year my husband and I earned more than:
283,000 British Airways miles
192,000 American miles
199,000 US Airways miles
50,000 Continental miles
8 -9 Southwest Rapid Reward round trip tickets + $500 Southwest gift cards
Southwest Companion pass good for 13 months for my husband to fly free with me anywhere I fly.
These totals equal approximately 40 domestic round trip tickets (25,000 miles per trip except on US Airways 20,000 miles per trip as a Dividend Miles credit card holder and a Southwest round trip for $500) plus my husband’s companion pass which should add about 10 more round trip tickets in 2011. Even I find these totals amazing and I have been earning and burning frequent flyer miles for 10 years. As I said 2010 has been a very good year.
While checking my Southwest account I realized that one of my Rapid Rewards round trip tickets was missing from my account. It was earned and posted as pending, but never reached my account. I called Southwest Rapid Rewards and they are looking into this issue and promised to call me this week. I am hopeful that the ninth free ticket will post to my account next week without any additional contact needed by me with the Rapid Rewards department at Southwest.
Remember to check your accounts to make sure you are receiving all of the miles, credits and points you are promised from each and every promotion, flight and hotel stay.
Wishing all of you a wonderful holiday season and a New Year filled with travel while you earn many more miles, credits and points.
